Darinka is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, working with Prof. Lucia Melloni. Their research investigates how perception and memory interact to shape subjective experience, using behavioral experiments, eye-tracking, electrophysiology (MEG, EEG, iEEG), computational modeling, and machine learning to link neural mechanisms with conscious experience. A strong advocate for open and reproducible science, Darinka serves on the steering committee of the EEGManyPipelines project, promoting transparency and collaboration in cognitive neuroscience. In June 2025, Darinka will establish an independent research group as an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University, continuing to explore how the brain integrates past and present to construct our sense of reality.
